Lithium penny stocks are in demand, primarily because of the ever-increasing interest in lithium flow batteries. But over the past year or so, vanadium penny stocks have become just as popular, as people claim vanadium flow batteries will one day surpass lithium-based ones. As a result, we have the debate over vanadium penny stocks vs. lithium penny stocks. Which are better?
Looking at the market today, one can see vanadium penny stocks doing better than those for lithium.
Consider Largo Resources (a vanadium penny stock) and Advantage Lithium Corp. (a lithium penny stock).
Comparing the companies mentioned above, Largo Resources is currently the superior mining penny stock.
Largo Resources (TSX:LGO)
Based in Toronto, Ontario, Largo Resources is a development and exploration company. For the past month or so, Largo Resources has seen a range of success. From announcing positive second quarter financial results to disclosing on August 30th that it will be presenting at the Global Investment Conference in NYC (the last day of the conference is today), this company is proving to be a leader in the vanadium industry.
On August 21st, Largo Resources hit a new 52-week high, trading at $2.88. Today, the LGO share price is currently sitting at $2.67, which puts the penny stock up 0.38%.
Meanwhile, Advantage Lithium Corp. is not doing as hot.
Advantage Lithium Corp. (OTCQX:AVLIF)
Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Advantage Lithium is another exploration company, but it focuses on unproven mineral interests.
The last two months looked pretty good for Advantage Lithium. Back in July, the company announced the closing of $12 million financing, then followed that announcement with reporting a positive preliminary economic assessment.
But are things taking a turn for the worst this month?
According to Yahoo Finance, as of 10:34 a.m. EDT, Advantage Lithium is trading down 5.76%.
