Blockchain Penny Stocks Continue to Drop

Blockchain companies were the hot ticket in 2017. Now, it seems investors have lost interest in blockchain technology and the new public blockchain companies emerging. Blockchain penny stocks have taken a hit this year as interest drops.

Cannabis has become the new hot sector on the stock market, as marijuana legalization is popping up across North America. Despite a down-trotted cryptocurrency market, some blockchain companies are still holding strong in the shadows.

Let’s take a closer look at a few blockchain penny stocks and their latest movements.

HIVE Blockchain Inc. (TSXV:HIVE) (OTC:HVBTF)

HIVE Blockchain is located in Vancouver, BC and operates as a cryptocurrency mining firm. Previously, the company was known as Leeta Gold corp but switched its focus and changed its name to HIVE Blockchain back in September of 2017.

Nine days ago, HIVE announced that it had granted a total of 4,000,000 stock options to its directors, officers, employees, and consultants. This is the latest company news this month. 

According to Yahoo Finance, HIVE penny stock shares are currently trading on the TSXV at $0.62 CAD a share, down -$0.02 CAD (-3.12%). On the OTC, HVBTF shares are trading at $0.479, down -$0.010 (-2.10%).

BTL Group Ltd. (TSXV:BTL) (OTC:BTLLF)

BTL Group Ltd is based out of Calgary, Alberta and the blockchain penny stock provides enterprise technology platforms to businesses across various industries. BTL Group changed its name from Northern Aspect Resources Ltd back in November of 2015 and has been incorporated since 2011.

A week ago, BTL announced that it had filed yet another patent for its Interbit blockchain platform. This would be the companies sixth patent application it has filed for the project.

Despite the positive news a week ago, this penny stock’s shares continue to fall.

According to Yahoo Finance, BTL is currently trading at $2.61 CAD a share on the TSXV, down -$0.13 (-4.74%). On the OTC, the blockchain penny stock shares are trading at $2.03, down -$0.11 (-5.14%).
