inTEST Corporation (NYSE:INTT) has received its largest order in the company’s history, in the form of 112 temperature forcing systems. The order is worth $2.6 million.
The inTEST Thermal Solutions section of the company has received the order and should complete it in time for the end of this fiscal year. inTEST Thermal Solutions is the world’s leading supplier of temperature systems.
James Pelrin, the Executive Vice President and COO of inTEST said that this order was a testament to the company’s surge forward in the thermal solutions temperature market. He explained that the order was not only the largest in the company’s history but that it was also placed by one customer (a current existing customer of inTEST).
ThermoStream, the system that was ordered, allows for rapid temperature transitions through the use of precise temperature control. It is a portable system that delivers clean dry air in order to achieve this process. It is beneficial for lab and production test efficiency because the ThermoStream can create stable environments in a matter of seconds.
“Worldwide demand for increased data bandwidth is driving the need for faster communications in smaller packages,” said Pelrin. “Transceivers use lasers whose frequency is affected by temperature and require calibration at various temperature points at the end of their production cycle where ThermoStream systems are used.”
He said that the bid was “competitive”, and the fact that inTEST had won it was due to “the systems’ record of long-term reliable performance, iTS’ ability to meet an aggressive delivery schedule, and well-established customer support.”
