Surge In Demand For Thermal Cameras Could Deliver Dynamic Results For Investors

Patriot One Technologies’ (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) mission to create safer communities with its multisensor threat detection and thermal video recognition platform could be the beginning of safe reopenings

Patriot One Technologies (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) has been on investors’ radars for quite some time now and its artificial intelligence (AI)-Powered threat detection technology has drawn some of Fortune 500’s biggest names to partner with it. The Company was selected as the second-best performing tech stock on the 2019 TSX Venture 50 for its superior performance in 20181. That award then led to an impressive graduation to Canada’s TSX Big Board in April of 2019.

Identifying a Pathway for Businesses to Re-Open Safely

Patriot One’s (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) new Patscan VRS-T Thermal Video Recognition system has been released at an opportune moment. The increased demand for thermal body and mask detection has seen a surge in growth to allow businesses to re-open safely. Its Patscan VRS-T solution can quickly configure sensors to provide enhanced safety for citizens against an invisible threat.

Going in line with the Company’s mission statement “to create safer communities by detecting dangers before they become a threat to our global citizens and their communities,” Patriot One has developed Health & Safety modules for its PATSCAN Video Recognition System (VRS).

The VRS-T Thermal module utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to identify and analyze instances of contrasting body temperature.

It’s a passive and nonintrusive computer vision module that pairs off-the-shelf thermal video cameras, which the PATSCAN then uses to identify temperatures of people passing through who are outside of normal temperature range. The system then sends an alert to onsite security to further action using the standard operating procedures of facility management or organization.

Early screening such as this could potentially help slow the rates of infection by preventing people from walking around others when they are sick.

This, in turn, could potentially limit the impact these spreads would have on regional community health-care services, and increase the probability for timely treatment.

Addressing and preventing entry to a potentially infected person may significantly reduce the risks for those others who pass through without issue. Reducing the transmission threat potentially allows businesses to thrive once again.

For higher-traffic facilities that require the uniform use of face masks, the PATSCAN VRS-HS face mask compliance detection module uses vision analytics that once again leverage common-off-the-shelf digital video camera technology.

By employing these modules, the platform can detect an increase in body temperature if the person has a fever and can alert security of non-compliant persons passing through without a mask.

Now, when paired together, a business or facility can gain much more confidence regarding the people entering its spaces, and having more tools to assess its associated risks. Even better, the system can be deployed beyond the main entry points, allowing users the ability to push their safety perimeter even further back, and to deconflict issues sooner, and ensure that Health & Safety is maintained.

With its mission to deliver innovative threat detection and counter-terrorism solutions for safer communities, Patriot One Technologies (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) has developed security assets enticing to businesses, schools, venues, and governments alike—while commercializing a platform of multiple sensors that detect concealed weapons by using a number of technologies, including radar, video, magnetic, and resonance.

The PATSCAN™ Multi-Sensor Covert Threat Detection Platform uses a network of advanced sensors. Each sensor uses powerful next generation AI/machine learning software that is then coupled with hardware to detect known threats like rifles, guns, knives, bombs, etc.—effectively raising the probability of neutralizing a threat and its potential harm before it starts.

President and CEO Martin Cronin says, “a key difference with our technology is that we can provide a little bit of standoff to a facility in that, subject to locals laws etc., people can be scanned as they approach a facility to give early warning to security that they’re walking up with a knife, a bomb, etc. That’s a fundamental difference compared to existing available technology.”

The PATSCAN™ platform identifies and reports threats wherever required; car park, building approach, employee and public entryways, and inside the facilities, etc. This high-tech network can be covertly deployed from a far perimeter and/or within interiors across multiple weapons-restricted facilities. It provides first responders and security personnel valuable time that’s crucial to any active threat scenario.

Game On! Protecting Sports Venues During Reopening

In a partnership with Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Banc of California Stadium, Patriot One is helping to form “The Stadium & Event Safety Strategic Alliance.

The Alliance aims to utilize ground-breaking security technology to turn the stadium into a global showcase venue to advance the vision of safety and security for public gathering in spaces. The rollout will utilize the PATSCAN Multi-Sensor Threat Detection Platform modules, as well as PATSCAN VRS-T Thermal Elevated Body Temperature and PATSCAN VRS-HS Facial Mask Detection.

Billions have been lost across multiple professional sports leagues around the world. With no fans allowed to watch a matchup, a significant portion of a team’s revenue evaporates. By employing PATSCAN in large sporting venues, teams could potentially return to their games and give some sense of normalcy back to a public that still demands these forms of entertainment.

“We’re excited to participate in the creation of this new strategic Alliance,” said Christian Lau, Chief Technology Officer for LAFC and Banc of California Stadium. “Our venue in the heart of Los Angeles will become the center for new and innovative physical and health threat identification and detection technologies, and we are looking forward to facilitating direct collaboration with other venues and teams around the world.”

Patriot One Technologies (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) is implementing its Patscan multisensor threat detection platform modules at Banc of California Stadium. In addition, Patriot One will deploy its newest health and safety threat identification and detection modules—Patscan VRS-T Thermal Elevated Body Temperature and Patscan VRS-HS Facial Mask Detection modules – during this same period.

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Advantage

Patriot One’s (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) AI analysis and machine learning capabilities continuously improve the system’s effectiveness. Unlike many of its competitors, PATSCAN keeps getting smarter and more precise over time.

It’s this distinction that makes PATSCAN far more than just a glorified metal detector. It’s an intelligent system of multiple, integrated sensors that spans from the parking lot to inside the building.

Each of the PATSCAN Multi-Sensor Covert Threat Detection Platform’s components (CMR, TMS, and VRS) are intelligent/cognitive learning solutions. They scan via radar, magnetic resonance, and video, all the while learning more and more. This progressive learning has enabled the platform to learn the difference between an umbrella vs. a rifle, a laptop computer vs. a bomb.

Data acquired from just one AI/Machine Learning sensor can then be applied to the other solutions through a process called “Data Fusion.” This involves melding/merging each solution together in one unified suite that cooperatively works to identify threats entering the weapon restricted building/venue.

Patriot One believes utilizing a suite of sensors working together is far more effective than other systems with just one sensor in creating safer buildings and communities.

The Company is collaborating with Amazon Web Services, Vancouver General Hospital, the University of British Columbia, and SapienML, among others, in the development of an AI solution to help radiologists identify the increased risk of CV19.

“This is an incredibly important project, which we are proud to be a collaborator on, and we hope that our team and technology can provide a meaningful addition to the ongoing efforts to minimize CV19’s impact on the world.”

This is not the only CV19 program Patriot One is involved in, as earlier in May, the Company was selected by Canada’s Digital Technology Supercluster (the “Supercluster”) for participation in an up-to CA$4.5 million CV19 funding program in co-investment capital for the PATSCAN Platform.

The investment is proposed to fund the advanced development and deployment of the PATSCAN VRS health and safety detection modules for thermal elevated body temperature, facial mask screening, social distancing, and contact tracing suite of video object recognition solutions.

An Impressive Roster of Active Partners & Clients

Among Patriot One’s (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) roster of active clients and partners, are an impressive array of private and public interests.

Their prestigious portfolio currently includes:

At the forefront, the Cisco partnership has already brought plenty of major wins. The arrangement has allowed Patriot One (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) to advance its efforts with its VRS component and machine learning. The partnership offers a network of security system integrators/resellers/installers to help deploy the PATSCAN Platform Solution to a wide variety of clients. Cisco will also work with Patriot One on a Mobile VRS solution with deployment into law enforcement/police cars.

Security and weapons giant Raytheon is currently working with Patriot One (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) on the development of its radar technologies, currently the CMR. In March, the Company announced a partnership to extend developmental innovation of Patriot One’s threat detection technology and product pipeline.

“Raytheon has been a leader in developing radar technology since World War II. One of our missions is seeing the unseen which complements Patriot Ones’ concealed threat detection solution,” stated Terry Manion, Raytheon Canada Limited’s Vice President. “Supporting Canadian innovation through the Federal Industrial and Technological Benefits Policy provides current and future opportunities to create high-value jobs and economic growth throughout Canada.”

IBM has given Patriot One access to their world-famous Watson and Machine Learning/AI teams. The result has been enhanced potential to advance PAT’s own machine learning capabilities, carried out through its Startup with IBM program.

Patriot One Technologies Inc., Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), and Banc of California Stadium have expanded their partnership to enhance security and arena safety at Banc of California Stadium.

The Company’s business strategy utilizes security system integrators (resellers), and is currently working with resellers in countries internationally. More resellers will be added over time, as this threat detection platform adds more into its already enormous file of sales prospects and potential clients.

Offers Privacy and Unbiased Threat Analysis

While an increase in security is typically celebrated the world over, another concern is raised: Privacy. Privacy watchdogs have expressed concern towards the wave of scanners in places like airports2 in North America and around the world.

The PATSCAN platform solely looks for threat objects or threat disturbances first, before identifying an individual. By detecting the threat item/disturbance first, the system inherently eliminates any bias in individual profiling.

In contrast, many of Patriot One’s competitors’ solutions use body imaging; justifiably causing serious privacy concerns.

Each client using one of those solutions will need to have a “data management” policy in place to protect their employees, staff and patrons visiting these facilities protected by these competitor technologies.

Patriot One Technologies (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) has successfully avoided such a need, with their state-of-the-art platform that ensures privacy of all patrons.

Stacked Management Team Successful International Experience

To date, much of the success of Patriot One Technologies (TSX:PAT) (OTCQX:PTOTF) can be attributed to its team’s rapid succession of achievements. Their connections and decisions have yielded a series of recent accomplishments, including a successful acquisition, the closing of a $46 million bought deal financing, the addition of multiple high-profile clients, and an army of active resellers.

These achievements come from the top down, with a team that’s led by President and CEO, Martin Cronin. An expert in the areas of counter-terrorism, conflict resolution, and government/corporate interface, Cronin has extensive experience in high intensity conflict environments, including over 20 years’ experience in international diplomacy with the British Government. He’s served in postings around the world, including in Yemen, Jordan, Sweden, Pakistan, and Iraq.

Bringing a strong mix of academic and industry experience, Dr. James Stewart serves as SVP of Video Analytics. Dr. Stewart previously served as Lead Data Scientist with Forcepoint (Formerly Raytheon|Websense), Research and Development Manager with the Information Security Centre of Excellence at UNB (now the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity), Senior Network Intelligence Analyst with Bell Aliant, and Crime Analyst Manager with the Saint John Police Force, where he continues to serve today as a 15-year auxiliary police constable.
