      Cobalt

Cobalt is a hard, silver-grey metal. Mined from the earth’s crust, cobalt is found in a chemically combined form. It goes through a process called reductive smelting to produce a free element.

Cobalt is used in everyday life for pottery and ceramics. It is also used in medicine as it produces an important radioactive isotope that is used to detect cancers.

Companies that mine and produce Cobalt include eCobalt Solutions and Scientific Minerals.
