January Blockchain Technology Stock Movers

Blockchain technology

Blockchain technology stocks rose towards the end of 2017, as many companies began adopting the trending technology. It raised such a following that even an iced tea company, Long Island Iced Tea, announced mid-December that it would be joining the blockchain arena. The company’s plan was to change its name to Long Blockchain Corp and at the time of the announcement, saw its stock soar more than 200%. Currently, its stock is down -0.98% and is down -16%, for the month. It remains unclear as to how they have implemented blockchain but it may just have been all a spur-of-the-moment “hype” jump.

This is just an odd case of a company wanting to benefit from a current market trend. There were a few other companies towards the end of 2017, that announced they were pivoting to blockchain technology and saw similar stock gains.

None-the-less, most blockchain companies that were actually focused on blockchain technology, had a monumental year in 2017. Here are a few blockchain technology stocks that I covered in the “11 Hot Blockchain Technology Stocks To Watch” and how they are doing on the market today.
