MariMed to Speak at NEREJ Cannabis & Commercial Real Estate Summit

Cannabis & Commercial Real Estate Summit

On Friday, MariMed Inc. (OTC:MRMD), a Massachusetts-based medical cannabis company, announced that it would be making a presentation at the New England Real Estate Journal (NEREJ)’s Cannabis & Commercial Real Estate Summit at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center.

The Summit, which occurs on June 13, will touch on topics about the cannabis and the real estate industry, including panels on the different laws and restrictions to operate and the necessary zoning and other permits required.

MariMed’s CEO Robert Fireman, CFO Jon Levine, and COO Tim Shaw will be presenting their “real experiences gained from developing marijuana cultivation, production and dispensary facilities in six states and decades of collective executive experience in commercial real estate at The Summit’s two panels.”

According to Fireman, companies face “many issues and challenges involved in siting and developing cannabis facilities in Massachusetts and other states where cannabis has legal medical and adult use programs,” including the need for “good understanding of the state law, but also a thorough review of each municipality’s zoning, ordinances, and sentiment towards cannabis.”

He hopes that through the executive experience of the team at MariMed, they will be able to provide valuable information on important resources that can benefit others.

Rick Kaplan, the NEREJ Director of Events, believes that “by bringing together experienced professionals in real estate, law and design with stakeholders in various areas of the cannabis industry … the Summit offers a great education and networking opportunity that can play an important role in the success of cannabis businesses.”

Shares of MariMed rose over ten percent on Friday after the announcement was made. The company has been able to reach a high of $2.40 USD and, as of approximately 2:35 pm EDT, was hovering near $2.08.

Comparatively, the company closed at a share value of $1.83 on Thursday.
