Top Small-Cap Mining Stocks

Some of the CSE’s top percentage gainers in Friday’s market were all small-cap mining companies, all within the top 10 of the list. These companies will be the ones to watch moving forward to see which of them keep up the gains and which ones fall short.

At the top of the list, in the number 1 spot, comes CMX Gold & Silver Corp. (CSE:CXC). CMX gained 77.78%, rising $0.035 on the CSE to reach $0.08 from closing at $0.045 on Thursday’s market. CMX is an exploration stage company focused on acquiring, exploring, and developing silver, lead, and zinc properties in the USA.

Cerro Grande Mining Corp. (CSE:CEG) achieved the number 4 position on the list, with a 50% increase. Cerro rose $0.005 on the CSE to reach $0.015 from closing at $0.010 at the end of trading on Thursday. Cerro is a junior exploration and mineral development company with 100% interest in the Nevada and Dorado properties in the Copiapo area of northern Chile, along with 100% interest in the Habanero and El Rojo properties in the Ocuviri Mining District in Peru.

Debut Diamonds Inc. (CSE:DDI) also saw a 50% increase in its stock today on the CSE. The company, which focuses on the acquisition, exploration, and development of diamond mineral resource properties in Canada, placed 5th on the list. Like Cerro, Debut Diamonds’ stock rose $0.005 to reach $0.015 after closing on Thursday at $0.010.

6th place on the CSE list of top percentage gainers went to Alchemist Mining Inc. (CSE:AMS). Alchemist experienced a 36.59% increase, rising $0.075 to reach $0.28, after closing at $0.205 at the end of trading on Thursday. Alchemist Mining is a mineral exploration company.

Finally, we have Kootenay Zinc Corp. (CSE:ZNK). Kootenay Zinc, not to be confused with Kootenay Silver Inc. (TSXV:KTN), focuses on mineral exploration and development in British Columbia, specifically in that of zinc and in the exploration and advancement of its Sully property. Kootenay Zinc placed number 7 on the CSE with a 30% increase. The stock rose $0.015 to reach $0.065 from its Thursday closing price of $0.050.

Each of these stocks are small traders, but that didn’t stop them from being big percentage gainers on the CSE during Friday trading. The small wins lead to bigger wins and each of these stocks are on the rise with the potential to take off.
